Joy Wooderson was born with a flair for grammar and a love of “words.” An avid reader all her life, she discovered a passion for writing and a talent for proofreading after doing business correspondence for a major airline for almost fifteen years in Atlanta. She became known as “Eagle Eye.” She continued to use these skills in various ways throughout her working career.

She is the author of Finding Joy: One Woman’s Journey Back to Faith ( in print and Kindle versions) as well as an instructional e-booklet, Ten Hidden Facts About Self-Publishing, available in Amazon’s Kindle bookstore. Visit for additional details.

Joy’s writes creative nonfiction and her essays have been published in The Truth About The Fact: International Journal of Literary Nonfiction, A Cup of Comfort for Christians, Friends: Stories of Friendship, the 2006 Mid Rivers Review, and the Cuivre River Anthology, Volumes II and III. Her articles include “My Favorite Injury,” Travelers’ Tales Solas Awards Elder Travel category winner, 2007. The manuscript for Finding Joy won first place in the Oklahoma Writers’ Federation, Inc. nonfiction book category in 2005 under its original title.

In 2004, Joy’s adventurous spirit drew her to O’Fallon, Missouri where she hones her writing and proofreading skills each week with The Scribes’ Tribe critique group.
